I want to sincerely thank everyone who helped provide data or offer encouragement. We have supply chain issues, and these products may have to go to ESS DACs sooner than later, hence the extended wait. We are continuing to investigate this with C-Media, the developer of the USB interface IC we use in Hel 2 and Fulla 4, as we wait for the next run of these products. If you can't get the noise reduced enough to make the device usable, or understandably don't want to jump through those hoops, then we can offer you a full refund. Play with cords, try a hub or two, whatever you have lying around, give it a shot. Even computers that completely refused to recognize the Fulla 4 (going so far as to say there was nothing plugged in through tools like USB Device Tree Viewer or USBDeview) worked great once ran through a USB Hub. We were able to solve 100% of the USB-C connectivity and quality issues with Fulla 4 and Hel 2 on 100% of our temperamental devices by running them through a Wyrd we had lying around. You'll need to run the Hel 2 or Fulla 4 through a USB hub or something to isolate or "decrapify" the signal. We've noticed a large number of reports from ASUS, MSI, and Asrock mobos. If you're still having issues, unfortunately, you have a noisy motherboard. As a starting point, please double & triple check that your BIOS is completely up to date (I know, I know.) and that you're directly downloading the latest version from the manufacturer's website. After some pretty strenuous testing, we've found the issue to be limited to specific motherboards and their USB ports. Second, your device won't register, is crackling, drops audio, disappears from windows, etc. We hope to have an experimental firmware that may improve latency, but that's still in the works. We will get you a full refund if you can't get it fixed, because let's face it, that latency is pretty much unusable for gaming, and would be pretty obnoxious for watching anything that's lip-synced. Unfortunately, for PS4 & PS5 as well as games that lock sample rate, there is no way to adjust your sample rate. Anything higher than 16/44 should massively mitigate the latency. To clear latency, the easiest way is to adjust your sample rate. This is a summary of what we’ve found, and replaces an earlier post I made where I was misinformed about our production plans.įirst off, latency. I've been in constant contact with the subreddit to help gather data to fix the issues we've seen with Hel 2 and Fulla 4, and do what I can to help you all troubleshoot issues. Hey everyone, if you don't know me I'm Evan Scriviner, a Quality Assurance tech for Schiit Audio.
